Welcome to our vacation home!
Our terrific mom, Linda, bought this property in the mid-90’s as a “get-a-way” second home. Through the years, she made many great memories with family and friends. However, the only thing that is constant is change, and after nearly 25 years of ownership, it was time to make a change. She had some difficult decisions to make and decided that it was best to sell the property. As we gathered for one last long weekend to reminisce over years of great memories, it became clear that we weren’t quite ready to give it up just yet. We all agreed that the siblings, Lauren and Brent, would jump in and turn it into a rental property that others could enjoy as we have allowing us to keep it in the family until we are ready to make a different decision.
Tucked privately back into a pine and cedar forest, a paved driveway leads you to a charming home surrounded by beautiful landscaping and the sounds of birds that welcomes you in. The location is ideal for a relaxing getaway — just yards from the Lake Michigan shore and a 15-minute walk to Cave Point County and Whitefish Dunes State Parks — great for watching morning sunrises or for taking tranquil hikes.
The screened porch may just be your favorite fair weather place! Skylights bring in light from above, and the view of the backyard garden and sound of the remote-controlled waterfall is so peaceful. Great for reading books, socializing or just quietly meditating. There are two other outdoor seating areas which can be used as well.
The master suite (King Bed) is a large area with sliding glass doors to both the front and back decks. The master bath has a tiled floor, tiled walk-in shower with seating and dual vanities. If you must work, you’ll find a connecting work area with a large amount of counter space. 4mb/sec internet is provided, and cellular service is good. Additionally, a side room has a modern, front-loading washer/dryer and plenty of space to sort and fold clothes.
Upstairs you will find two nicely sized bedrooms (1 Queen and 2 Twin Beds), each with a skylight. The bonus space is a lounge area (2 Twin Beds) which can also be used as a respite from the rest of the house. A bathroom with shower is situated between the two bedrooms.
On those warmer days, there are nine ceiling fans across the family room, each bedroom, bonus, and indoor porches. Or, you can turn on the central air conditioning. For those colder days, you can take the edge off by lighting the floor to ceiling stone, gas fireplace or just turn on the zoned heating. Finally, there’s an outdoor shower so popular in Door County for those who would enjoy a closer connection to nature.
A propane grill is provided. A water circulating system provides quick hot water to all locations. In the rare event of a power outage, a completely automated generator will quickly provide power to the entire house!
