It is a slice of Old Door County, situated on land owned by the same family since 1880. The cottage is a 1 story board and batten, built-in 1964. There are 300 feet of private shoreline facing east over North Bay and Lake Michigan. You must be warned that your early mornings may be interrupted by incredible sunrises. Fortunately, you will be able to make up the lost sleep as the only sounds you hear at night are the breeze in the trees and the occasional crackling of the Northern Lights.
North Bay Drive is a very quiet, little traveled road which makes it a perfect place for couples to spend a quiet week or a family with kids to safely run amok in the summer sun.
The woods surrounding Cappy have many “secret spots” to explore and the beaches are full of fossil bearing rocks dating back to when the area was under a tropical sea. We have just put in a new dock (available after June 30, 2022 because of weather) and sunning on the dock’s bench is encouraged. Additionally, Door County’s beautiful beaches and state parks are only a short drive away.
The north end of the bay is a wonderful playground of sand flats and shallow water, warming sooner than many Door County Beaches.
The yard in front of Cappy is an inviting place to while away a summer afternoon reading and snoozing in lawn chairs or hammock. It features the oldest, intact shuffle board court in Door County (though mostly used for sidewalk chalk art these days). At the end of a day spent adventuring in the County, you have a grill and picnic table for a cookout or you can prepare dinner in Cappy’s well equipped kitchen. You also have a copper fire pit for evening campfires.
Best of all, Cappy offers the charms of the “Quiet Side” of Door County, yet is 10 minutes away from all the activities in the villages and our terrific parks.

Floor Plan Description
Go up a ramp and step into the screen porch. There is a sliding patio door on your left into the dining area, or straight ahead is the main door to the house. Enter into the living room with a beautiful stone fireplace with a gas insert; the kitchen is immediately on your left, or take a sharp left into the aforementioned dining area. The bunk room is past the kitchen on the left – it has four built-in twin bunk beds. The top bunks are best for children, although some adults have utilized them. The master bedroom with king bed is straight through the living room and it has a stone fireplace that mirrors the one in the living room, though non-functional. Located between the two bedrooms, the full bathroom with tub and shower also has a washer & dryer.
